Five years ago

Here is a picture of Chari and the kids taken five years ago. Can't wait to see them next week.

Germany 1966

I missed seeing my cousin Mark at the Shelton Reunion - don't see him nearly enough. This picture is of Mark and him mom Janis taken in Germany in late 1966 or 1967.

Conard Family

Here is a picture of Charles and Ollie Conard with thier youngest child Verne - probably taken about 1920 or so. Verne married Elizabeth Tenny.

Unkown Couple at the Conard house

Here is a picture taken from Aunt Janis' collection. It is an unknown couple standing in front of the Charles and Ollie Conard house - probably early 1939. I'll buy a dinner at the Hot Biscuit for anyone who can tell me the name of the couple. I have no idea.

Two Rogers sisters

This picture was taken in 1902 of the first two Rogers girls born to Mattie and Willard Rogers. Edna (1901-2001) and Clara (1900 - 1980) were the sixth and seventh children born to Willard and Mattie, who raised seven boys and five girls.

Next we see Clara and then Edna with their youngest sister, my Grandma, Leone Shelton. the picture of Clara was taken in late 1979, a few months before her death and the picture of Edna was taken in the 1980s. Edna died on Dec 10, 2001, just two days shy of her 100th birthday.

Final Photo

This photo came from the collection of my Aunt Janet - belonged to her grandmother Callie Conard, I suppose. It was taken Aug, 8, 1975 at eh Conard Reunion. To my knowledge it is the last photo taken of my great-grandma, Faye (Conard) Block, seen here with her sister (center), Ethel (Conard) Block, and her brother, Roy Conard. Faye and Ethel married two brothers, George and Willie Block. Roy married Callie Tenny. Grandma Block died a month and a half later in late September, 1975. Roy died in 1976 and Ethel passed in 1978. Their brother Verne had died the previous year - 1974.

40 years ago

This is taken from a slide so the quality is not very good. The event was a trip with Harry and Leone Shelton, Charlie and Pearl Rogers and Raymond and Janet shelton and kids to the Garden of the Gods, Summer 1967. L - R are JR., Janie and Jill. I was down at Pounds Hollow and the Garden of the Gods last fall - took some great photos and hiked a bit . Lots of opportunity for misfortune, for a half blind, middle aged man, but had a ball, nonetheless!

Gerald Block

Recently I requested for a volunteer to photograph Gerald Block's grave stone at Camp butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL for Findagrave. It took about a week or two, but recieved the following picture which was added to his online memorial at Findagrave.com. This is the picture

These last two pictures were taken at Blue Point church. They were the last pictures taken of Gerlad before he left for Korea.

Lon Rogers Family

2007 Shelton Reunion

Last Sunday was the 2007 Shelton Reunion in Cisne. We had about 30 people present and I think eeryone had a great time visiting and catching up on the past year.

Happy birthday to John Shelton, seen here at six days old with his Grandma.

Happy 90th Birthday!

Happy birthday to Grandma (Edith) Smith, born to Goerge and Faye Block, June 26, 1917. I took Grandma to eat on her birthday. The whole resterant sang "Happy Birthday." She had visits from Mary Jones, Weta Forth, Eileen Krutsinger, Ruth Smith and Robert & Hazel Smith. We will be wishing her Happy birthday again on Sunday at the Block Reunion.

Thirty Years ago today!

Thirty Years ago today, June 24, 1977, Grandma Shelton retired from Aitex. This photo was taken that day at 802 w. Delaware in Fairfield.Grandma worked for Airtex for about 25 years, I think.
